This month, our spotlight is one of the “movers” of Healthconnect247, Tienador Ghomorai, our finance manager.  

 Let’s talk a little about you, please introduce yourself.  

Hi, I am Tienador Ghomorai, finance manager of HealthConnect247. I’m a chartered accountant, and as you all know, it’s not beans. I’m from Delta State, and I have five sisters. I am the only boy, which means I am very disciplined and principled. Above all, I love God. 

  What’s your regular day like as a finance manager? 

The first thing I do when I resume work is check my emails to see if there’s anything urgent that needs my attention, and I act on those. If there’s nothing, I process payments that needs to be made and follow up on tax situations. Also, depending on the time of the year or month, there are some routine payments that take precedence. The bulk of my workdays is preparing reports and following payments in and out.  

 What do you enjoy most about your job?   

Mwa ha ha…the Power  

 Yeah, right!  

Yes, actually. The role comes with power. Finance is right at the center of every business operation, so every department somehow has to go through the finance department. I like the fact that things eventually end up on my desk. Even if it’s not for me to approve, I still have an overview of everything going on within the company and that is POWER! 

 God, when? So how do you maintain that work-life balance?   

I don’t. Work is my life haha. Aside from work, I spend all my time with my wife. My wife is my personal interest haha.  

 What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?   

Hmm…that I should do my ACCA. 

 What’s one thing about you that might surprise your colleagues?   

Hahaaaa…I’m a very serious person  

 Haha…no. Please say something else 

 But I am a serious person. Okay, I am also very pretty open.  

So, if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? 

Japan, because I love their culture.   

 What if you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?   

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World! Everything is fascinating about the movie, it’s 10/10, if you haven’t seen Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, see it! 

 Five years from now, what do you think your career will look like?  

 Should be a Finance Director or CFO by my calculations. If not, retired with plenty of money to enjoy this life. 

 Favorite part of working with Health connect?   

 The people. I enjoy working with my colleagues. Brilliant bunch and fun too.
