However, at the center of it all is our Head of People and Operations, keeping us organized, motivated, and in our best physical and mental condition. Want to know more about her? Get ready for a fun and insightful interview that will give you a peek into our team's dynamic and the magic that makes us tick! Q: Who is Bukola Dawodu? Ans: Bukola Dawodu is a Business professional whose expertise includes leading people, resources, and organizational processes. She loves music, books, and nature. A corporate executive by the day and a virtual globetrotter by night. She currently works with a fantastic team at Health Connect 24x7 as the Head of Operations. Q: What does the  job of the Head of People and Operations at HC24X7 entail? Ans: In summary, this entails fixing problems by working with people. The critical goals of the role are overseeing the operational activities of HealthConnect 24x7, creating alignment and synergy among teams, and ensuring that the workforce is productive.  Q: How do you balance the demands of your job as a people and operations head with your personal life? Ans: My mantra is 'Work hard, play hard.' Work is part of me; I cannot separate it. I believe in integrating work with personal life. I reply to emails at parties if it is urgent. My friends and loved ones know this about me. When it is time to work, it is work, and when it is time to take a break for personal life, it is time.  In addition, I do not take challenges at work too personally. In spite of the emotions involved, it is business as usual, and work has to go on irrespective of my feelings. It is a gift; I balance work and play effortlessly. Q: Can you discuss any personal interests or hobbies that you pursue outside of work to help maintain balance in your life? Ans: Oh, I am multi-passionate! I have come to terms with who I am. Currently, I am studying cybersecurity.  Q: If you had a chance to address the UN for 1 minute what would you say? Ans: I will prioritize the health and well-being of our planet and its inhabitants and ensure that no one is left behind. We must unite, set aside our differences and work towards a common goal. We must work together to ensure everyone can access quality healthcare, including essential medicines, vaccines, and medical supplies. We must also address the social determinants of health, such as poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation, which disproportionately affect vulnerable and marginalized communities. Governments must prioritize investments in healthcare systems, increase access to affordable medicines, and address the root causes of health disparities. I'd also encourage them to promote international cooperation in addressing global health challenges, including pandemic preparedness and response. Q: If you had the power to change one thing what would it be? Ans: Poverty. Poverty can affect the mindset negatively. It is a menace. Q: If you had to choose a superpower, what would you choose and why? Ans: That would be a psychic superpower! Precognition, the ability to perceive or predict future events. I would love to have this to prevent future disasters or problems for myself and people around me. Lol.

How virtual clinic booths can be the answer to the problem of rural healthcare

Virtual clinic booths are a reliable solution to rural healthcare challenges that often go unnoticed by people living in urban areas. The shortage of healthcare professionals in remote areas, limited resources and facilities create significant barriers to accessing healthcare services. This means that people living in rural areas may have to travel long distances to see a doctor or specialist, which can be time-consuming and expensive. Furthermore, rural healthcare facilities often need more equipment and technology to provide the same level of care as their urban counterparts. This can lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment and, ultimately, poorer health outcomes. However, virtual booth clinics have the potential to revolutionize rural healthcare by providing a cost-effective and convenient solution to address these challenges. By leveraging technology, these clinics can give remote consultations with healthcare professionals, allowing patients to access quality medical care and consultation without traveling long distances. Virtual booth clinics help address the shortage of healthcare professionals in rural areas by connecting patients with doctors and specialists from other parts of the country. This means that people living in rural areas can access the same level of care as those living in urban areas while skipping the cost of transportation and the stress of long wait times. What is a virtual booth clinic? Virtual booth clinics are mini healthcare facilities that provide remote consultations with healthcare professionals through video conferencing technology. These clinics are designed to address the challenges of accessing healthcare services remotely. A virtual booth clinic typically comprises a small booth or kiosk equipped with video conferencing technology, a computer, and medical instruments. Patients can enter the booth and connect with a healthcare professional through video conferencing software. The healthcare professional can then conduct remote consultation, using medical equipment to perform primary care examinations, such as measuring blood pressure or listening to heart and lung sounds. The healthcare professional can also use the computer to access medical records and prescribe medication. Virtual booth clinics offer several benefits to patients and healthcare professionals alike. From convenient access to medical care for locals to allowing doctors and specialists to provide remote consultations from other parts of the country without traveling long distances or spending time away from their families and everything in between. Increased access to medical care One of the biggest challenges facing rural communities is access to medical care. Virtual booth clinics can help overcome this challenge by providing people living in rural areas access to medical care that may not be available locally. By using video conferencing technology, doctors and specialists can provide remote consultations to patients, enabling them to receive medical care without the need to travel long distances. This can be particularly important for people with chronic conditions who require regular medical care and those who live in remote areas without easy access to medical facilities. Reduced transportation costs Rural areas often need more transportation infrastructure, making it easier for people to travel to medical appointments. Virtual booth clinics can reduce transportation costs by allowing patients to receive medical care without leaving their homes. This can be especially important for people who live in areas with harsh weather conditions or for those who have mobility issues. By reducing transportation costs, virtual booth clinics can also help reduce medical care's financial burden on patients. Increased patient convenience Virtual booth clinics are a convenient way for patients to receive medical care. They can schedule appointments at a time that works for them without having to take time off work or travel long distances. This can be especially important for people with busy schedules or living in areas without easy access to medical facilities. By making medical care more convenient, virtual booth clinics can help improve patient satisfaction and encourage people to seek medical care when needed. Enhanced continuity of care Virtual booth clinics can ensure continuity of care for people with chronic conditions. They can receive medical care from the same healthcare professional, even if that professional is not in their local area. This can be particularly important for people requiring regular medical care or complex medical conditions requiring ongoing management. By improving continuity of care, virtual booth clinics can help to improve health outcomes for patients with chronic conditions. Access to specialized care Virtual booth clinics can help people in rural areas access specialized medical care. These services can be critical in rural areas, where people may have limited access to specialized medical care. By providing access to specialized care, virtual booth clinics can help to improve health outcomes for people with complex medical conditions. Improved patient outcomes Virtual booth clinics can improve patient outcomes by providing more frequent and convenient access to medical care. This can lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, resulting in better health outcomes. Virtual booth clinics can help reduce the chronic disease burden on patients and their families by improving patient outcomes. Increased patient satisfaction Virtual booth clinics can increase patient satisfaction by providing convenient and timely access to medical care. Patients can avoid long wait times and receive care from the comfort of their own homes. This can be especially important for people living in remote areas or with mobility issues. By improving patient satisfaction, virtual booth clinics can encourage people to seek medical care when needed. Improved population health Virtual booth clinics can help to improve population health by providing access to medical care for underserved rural populations. This can help prevent the spread of infectious diseases and improve overall health outcomes in rural communities. By improving population health, virtual booth clinics can help to reduce healthcare costs and improve the quality of life for people living in rural areas. Overall, virtual booth clinics are a promising solution for improving healthcare outcomes in rural areas. They offer convenient and cost-effective access to medical care while addressing the challenges of accessing healthcare services in remote areas. 5 ways we’re helping HMOs reduce the cost of quality healthcare for employees

The cost of quality healthcare has been on the rise for many years, putting significant strain on health maintenance organizations (HMOs) and making it increasingly challenging to provide quality care to patients. In this context, HealthConnect is playing a vital role in helping HMOs reduce the cost of providing quality healthcare. HealthConnect offers a suite of solutions that help HMOs to streamline administrative processes, improve data management, and promote preventative care, among other things. For instance, our telemedicine solutions enable HMOs to provide virtual consultations and other remote services, reducing the need for in-person visits and lowering costs. Additionally, we provide access to evidence-based clinical guidelines and protocols, enabling HMOs to standardize care delivery and improve outcomes while reducing costs. These are just a few examples of the many ways HealthConnect is helping HMOs to reduce costs and improve the quality of care. According to a recent study, implementing telemedicine solutions can reduce the cost of care delivery by up to 30%. With these kinds of benefits, it's clear that we're a valuable partner for HMOs looking to reduce the cost of quality healthcare. 5 Ways We're Helping HMOs Reduce the Cost of Quality Healthcare 1. Reduction in Overhead Cost. The cost of quality healthcare is a significant concern for HMOs, as operational and overhead costs can quickly add up. HealthConnect24x7 offers solutions that help HMOs to reduce these costs and allocate resources more effectively. We also help HMOs to optimize their staffing levels, reducing labor costs while ensuring that patient care is not compromised. For instance, our state-of-the-art customer care center ensures that HMOs no longer need to hire staff to handle patient’s care consultation, saving cost. This approach helps HMOs to avoid overstaffing, reducing labor costs while ensuring that patients receive the care they need. By reducing operational and overhead costs, HMOs can improve their bottom line and invest in other critical areas of their organization, such as research and development or expanding their services.  2. Improved Preventative Healthcare. Ever heard the phrase “prevention is better than cure?” This is particularly true for Healthcare as preventative care is always less expensive than curative care. It is crucial in ensuring that patients remain healthy and avoid costly medical interventions. We understand the importance of preventative care and support HMOs in developing and implementing programs that promote it. With our easy-use App, which is available on the Google play store and IOS, as well as easy access to our toll-free line, HMO enrollees can access hassle-free preventive healthcare. These could be in the form of regular check-ups, screenings, and counseling, all of which can help patients stay healthy and avoid costly hospitalizations or emergency room visits.  With our support, HMOs and their enrollees can take a proactive approach to healthcare, promoting wellness and preventing illness before it occurs. Telemedicine has revolutionized the healthcare industry, providing patients with access to medical care from the comfort of their own homes. At HealthConnect24x7, we understand  how to make telemedicine work on an operational level in a way most telehealth outfits can’t. With our telemedicine solution, HMOs can reduce the need for in-person visits, thus lowering costs associated with traditional health care delivery. Telemedicine has been shown to significantly reduce the cost of healthcare, with studies showing that telemedicine visits cost up to 80% less than in-person visits. By leveraging our telemedicine services, HMOs can improve access to care for their patients while lowering costs and improving the patient experience. Our telemedicine services are available via a dedicated toll-free line or via the mobile app on your preferred playstore. The HMO subscription plans are customizable, and designed to meet the unique needs of each HMO and their patients, enabling them to provide the best possible care in a cost-effective manner.  4. Improved Medication Management and Adherence. Medication management and adherence can significantly challenge many enrollees, especially those with chronic conditions. Poor medication management can result in enrollees experiencing adverse health outcomes, leading to increased healthcare costs. Our telemedicine platform offers enrollees access to medication management services. Enrollees can receive reminders to take their medication and assistance with medication management, reducing the likelihood of adverse health outcomes and associated healthcare costs. By providing medication reminders, refill notifications, and other management and adherence assistance, we help HMO enrollees stay on top of their medication regimen, reducing the risk of complications and hospitalizations. HMOs can ensure that their patients receive the right medication, at the right time, and at the right dosage.  5. Improved Health Data Management. Effective health data management is critical to reducing healthcare costs. With HealthConnect 247's telemedicine platform, HMOs can access enrollees' health data, enabling them to provide personalized healthcare services tailored to each enrollee's unique needs. In addition, the platform offers enrollees access to their health records, enabling them to take a more active role in managing their health. This results in improved health outcomes, reduced healthcare costs, and increased enrollee satisfaction. Conclusion. Healthcare is an essential service that impacts the quality of life of individuals and communities. The cost of healthcare is a significant barrier that makes it difficult for HMOs to provide quality healthcare without huge financial implications. The significance of our role in reducing cost for HMOs is far-reaching. By partnering with HMOs we are helping to redefine Nigeria’s healthcare architecture, ensuring that low healthcare coverage due to availability and cost would soon be a thing of the past. How HealthConnect 247 is Improving Access to Remote Healthcare in Nigeria

Telemedicine has emerged as a game-changer in the healthcare industry, revolutionizing the way businesses reach people in underserved areas with the advent of remote healthcare in Nigeria. By harnessing the power of technology, telemedicine enables businesses to bridge the gap between patients and healthcare professionals, regardless of geographical boundaries. One of the key advantages of telemedicine is its ability to connect businesses with people in remote and underserved areas, ensuring they receive the healthcare they need in a timely and convenient manner. Through virtual consultations, patients can access medical professionals through video conferencing or secure messaging platforms, eliminating the need for arduous travel or relocation. This breakthrough technology enables businesses to extend their reach and deliver healthcare services directly to patients' homes, offering them the opportunity to receive expert medical advice, diagnosis, and even ongoing treatment without the traditional barriers of distance and limited healthcare resources. As a result, telemedicine is playing a pivotal role in helping businesses improve CSR delivery and social healthcare initiatives to remote areas and underserved communities by bringing comprehensive healthcare services to those who have historically faced challenges in accessing quality medical care. Below are some ways HealthConnect 247 is reimagining and improving access to healthcare even in remote areas.  What is HealthConnect 247? HealthConnect 247 is Nigeria's leading telemedicine service provider, combining home health and remote monitoring services to provide next-generation medical care to patients. The platform connects patients with healthcare professionals through video, phone, and chat calls. Strides HealthConnect 24x7 Has Made in Improving Remote Healthcare in Nigeria Seamless consultation experience via the HC24X7 app The HC24X7 app provides one of the most unique, seamless and rewarding experiences for users. It’s a fully equipped platform where patients can connect with doctor’s almost in minutes  via live chat; where users can chat up doctors and get answers in real time, virtual video consultation; where users can have face-to-face sessions with our experts, and access to a toll-free line; which you can call for any health challenges anytime any day.  One of the key benefits of using the HC24X7 app is that it allows patients to connect with their healthcare providers anytime, anywhere. This is particularly important in a country like Nigeria, where access to quality healthcare can be a challenge, especially in rural areas. With the HC24X7 app, patients no longer have to travel long distances to see a doctor or wait for hours in a crowded waiting room. They can simply open the app and connect with their healthcare provider through a video or audio call. Overall, the HC24X7 app is a significant game changer in the Nigerian telemedicine space. By providing patients with a seamless consultation experience that is both convenient and secure, the app is helping to improve access to quality healthcare in Nigeria and making a positive impact on the lives of millions of people Reduced Healthcare Costs Traditionally, the cost of healthcare in Nigeria is pretty high. So much so that the World Health Organization announced that 6 in 10 Nigerians lack access to primary healthcare. Amazingly, with traditional healthcare, the ratio of doctors to Nigerians is approximately 1 doctor to every 40,000 citizens. These realities contribute to the neck-breaking cost of healthcare. What we’ve been able to do is make healthcare delivery lean and flexible, without mortgaging quality. We’ve been able to adapt our process with technology to reduce overhead cost, and effectively reduce the cost of quality healthcare by over 90%. In essence, the cost of a single consultation with traditional healthcare delivery, could cover quality health consultation for a year with HealthConnect 24x7. Our prices are as low as #1,000 for a month's subscription, and #4,500 for three months. To check a comprehensive list of our subscription plans you can click the link below. See our subscription plans: HealthConnect 24x7 pricing and subscription plans Improved Healthcare Outcomes In Nigeria, we’ve recorded a number of fatalities and complications arising from delays in accessing healthcare. Our telemedicine service has significantly improved healthcare outcomes, ensuring that patients get instant and quality access to healthcare at the push of a button. With our remote healthcare services, patients can receive medical attention quickly, which reduces the risk of their condition worsening and requiring expensive treatment. Additionally, healthcare professionals can monitor patients remotely, which improves patient outcomes.  Dedicated Toll-free line The introduction of a dedicated and entirely toll-free line has perhaps been the most noteworthy and widely used service we’ve introduced.  The toll-free line ensures that patients can easily connect with a healthcare provider at any time without incurring any extra charges. This simply means that with or without airtime, you can consult with a doctor and get the best primary health care and attention for your health. The toll-free line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is staffed by a team of highly trained healthcare professionals who are available to provide medical advice, answer questions, and offer guidance on a range of health-related issues. This is particularly beneficial for patients who may have chronic medical issues or require immediate attention. A key advantage of the toll-free line is its accessibility to patients regardless of their location, literacy level or financial status. Our experts offer medical consultation across the major languages spoken in Nigeria, including pidgin English. This is especially important in a country like Nigeria, where access to healthcare services is severely limited among low-income populations. By providing a toll-free line, we’ve ensured that patients can receive medical advice and support without worrying about incurring extra consultation cost. Strong network of labs, hospitals and pharmacies for referral Another significant stride we’ve taken to improve access to remote healthcare services is establishing a strong network of labs, hospitals, and pharmacies where we can refer emergency cases to. This network ensures that patients receive the appropriate medical care and treatment, regardless of their location or medical condition. One of the key advantages of this network is that it allows us to provide our patients with a comprehensive range of healthcare services. Patients can access medical consultations, diagnostic tests, and specialist care through the network of labs, hospitals, and pharmacies. This is particularly beneficial for patients who may have complex medical conditions or require specialized care that cannot be provided through telemedicine. Another advantage of this network is that it ensures that patients receive high-quality medical care. HealthConnect 24x7 has partnered with reputable labs, hospitals, and pharmacies that are staffed by qualified healthcare professionals and equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment. As such, patients receive accurate diagnoses, effective treatments, and the highest level of medical care possible. We have established partnerships with medical facilities across Nigeria, including in remote and underserved areas. This means that patients can access medical care and treatment, even if they live in areas where healthcare services are limited. Conclusion HealthConnect 247 is making significant strides in improving access to remote healthcare in Nigeria through our telemedicine platform. The company's efforts in improving healthcare outcomes, and expanding healthcare infrastructure is helping to ensure that more people in Nigeria have access to quality and hassle-free healthcare services. Overall, our  telemedicine platform is proving to be a game changer in the healthcare industry in Nigeria and is set to improve the lives of countless individuals and communities. The Impact of Telemedicine on primary healthcare and patient outcomes in 2023

Telemedicine has become an increasingly important part of primary healthcare and patient outcomes in 2023. It involves using technology to provide healthcare services remotely, which has significantly impacted how primary healthcare is delivered. In this blog post, we will explore the impact of telemedicine on primary healthcare and patient outcomes in 2023. How Telemedicine Has Impacted Primary Healthcare and Patient Outcomes in 2023 Telemedicine has had a significant impact on healthcare providers and patients. One of the most significant impacts has been the increased access to healthcare services. Patients who live in rural or remote areas can now access healthcare services from the comfort of their own homes. This is particularly important for patients who have mobility issues, as well as for those who live in areas with limited healthcare resources. Another advantage of telemedicine is a reduction in healthcare costs. Patients can save money by not traveling to healthcare facilities, and healthcare providers can save money by reducing overhead costs.  Telemedicine has also been shown to improve patient outcomes. By using telemedicine, healthcare providers can monitor patients more closely, provide timely interventions, and improve patient education. Finally, telemedicine offers convenience for patients and healthcare providers. Patients can receive healthcare services from the comfort of their own homes, and healthcare providers can provide services from their offices or homes. This can lead to increased efficiency and productivity and improved patient satisfaction. Challenges of Telemedicine in Primary Healthcare While telemedicine offers many advantages, several challenges need to be addressed. Below are a few limitations to telemedicine in primary healthcare delivery.  1. Access to technology.  Not all patients have access to the technology needed to participate in telemedicine, which can limit their ability to receive healthcare services remotely. 2. Privacy and security concerns.  Patients must feel confident that their personal and medical information is protected when participating in telemedicine. Healthcare providers must follow the best data privacy and security practices. 3. Lack of face-to-face interaction  While telemedicine can effectively deliver healthcare services, there are other options besides face-to-face interaction. Patients may miss the personal connection with in-person visits, and healthcare providers may miss important visual cues that can help with diagnosis and treatment. Impact of Telemedicine on Healthcare and Patient Outcomes in 3 Telemedicine has been shown to have a positive impact on patient outcomes. Healthcare providers can monitor patients more closely and provide timely interventions by providing healthcare services remotely. This can lead to a reduction in hospital readmissions, particularly for patients with chronic diseases. Telemedicine has also been shown to improve chronic disease management. Patients with chronic diseases often require regular monitoring and care, which can be difficult for those who live in rural or remote areas. By using telemedicine, healthcare providers can monitor patients remotely and provide timely interventions when necessary. This can lead to better management of chronic diseases and improved patient outcomes. Another way that telemedicine can improve patient outcomes is by improving access to specialists. Patients living in rural or remote areas may need more access to specialists, leading to delays in diagnosis and treatment. By using telemedicine, healthcare providers can connect patients with specialists regardless of location. This can lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment, improving patient outcomes. Finally, telemedicine can improve patient satisfaction. Patients appreciate the convenience of receiving healthcare services from their homes, and telemedicine can reduce the stress and inconvenience of traveling to healthcare facilities. This can lead to higher patient satisfaction and improved patient outcomes. Impact of Telemedicine on Healthcare Providers Telemedicine can also have a positive impact on healthcare providers. By using telemedicine, healthcare providers can improve their efficiency and productivity. They can see more patients in less time, increasing revenue and reducing overhead costs. This can lead to a more profitable practice and improved job satisfaction. Telemedicine can also improve work-life balance for healthcare providers. By providing healthcare services remotely, healthcare providers can work from their homes or offices, reducing the stress and burnout of long hours and a demanding workload. This can lead to improved job satisfaction and reduced turnover rates. Conclusion In 2023, telemedicine is expected to continue its rapid growth, with advances in technology and infrastructure making it easier for healthcare providers to deliver healthcare services remotely. Telemedicine is also expected to play a larger role in providing healthcare services to patients in rural and remote areas, significantly improving primary healthcare and patient outcomes. Managing Hypertension with Telemedicine from the Comfort of Your Home in 2023

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, affects millions worldwide and can lead to serious health problems such as heart disease and stroke. Traditional approaches to managing hypertension involve frequent in-person visits with healthcare providers, which can be inconvenient and time-consuming. However, with the advent of telehealth, managing hypertension with telemedicine from the comfort of your home has become an effective and convenient solution for patients. In this blog post, we will discuss how telemedicine can help manage hypertension, the benefits of telemedicine, and tips for effectively managing hypertension from home with telemedicine. The Current State of Hypertension Treatment Traditionally, managing hypertension has involved frequent in-person visits with healthcare providers. However, this approach can be limiting for patients who may need help traveling to appointments due to time or mobility constraints. Additionally, patients may need more time to get appointments, leading to delayed treatment and potential complications. This is where telemedicine comes in. Managing Hypertension with Telemedicine Telemedicine involves the use of technology to provide remote medical care, including the management of hypertension. Patients can use videoconferencing, phone calls, or messaging apps to communicate with their healthcare providers, allowing for easy and convenient management of hypertension from the comfort of their homes. One of the benefits of telemedicine for hypertension management is that patients can have more frequent check-ins with their healthcare providers without having to travel to appointments. This can lead to better blood pressure control and reduce the risk of complications. Additionally, telemedicine can provide greater access to healthcare for patients in rural or underserved areas, where in-person visits may not be feasible. Tips for Managing Hypertension with Telemedicine Patients must actively participate in their care when managing hypertension from home with telemedicine. Here are some tips to effectively manage hypertension from home with telemedicine: Track your blood pressure at home: Use a home blood pressure monitor to regularly track your blood pressure and share the results with your healthcare provider. This can help them make more informed decisions about your care. Take medications as prescribed: Make sure to take them as prescribed by your healthcare provider, and report any side effects or concerns to them. Adopt a healthy lifestyle: Healthy lifestyle choices can help manage hypertension. For example, eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and avoiding tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption. Potential Challenges and Solutions While telemedicine can be an effective tool for managing hypertension from home, there are potential challenges to consider. These challenges may include limited access to technology or difficulty navigating telemedicine platforms. However, there are solutions to these challenges, such as educating patients and healthcare providers on how to use telemedicine platforms effectively.
